COVID-19 cases cross 12,000 mark in India, 414 deaths, 1488 cured

New Delhi, Apr 15: The Novel coronavirus cases on Thursday morning crossed 12,000 mark in the country with the figure now standing at 12380, according to the Union Health Ministry data.
With 22 fresh deaths reported overnight, the death toll has risen to 414.
Active cases of COVID 19 in the country at present are 10477, while the number of cases cured and discharged has witnessed some improvement and is now at 1488, says the data.
Cases in the worst-hit state in the country that is Maharashtra, have again experienced a spike with the number now at 2,916 with 187 deaths followed by the National Capital now housing 1578 cases and 32 deaths.
Numbers have also seen a spike in Tamil Nadu and Rajasthan with figures now standing at 1242 and 1023 respectively while Madhya Pradesh has recorded 987 cases with 53 deaths, the second highest COVID casualty in the country after Maharashtra.
The number of cases have increased at a fast pace in Maharashtra, Delhi, Tamil Nadu and Rajasthan in the past couple of days.
