Man booked for hiding travel history

Reasi, Apr 14: A man was booked by the authorities in Reasi district in Jammu region for hiding travel history to the areas declared ‘red zones’ by the government in wake of the surge in positive cases in the areas.

Officials told Kashmir News Observer (KNO), on Monday, the man resident of Baradari, Reasi reached home after travelling from ‘COVID-19 Red Zone’ i.e. Srinagar to Domail, taking lift in a truck on way from Srinagar to Jammu.

From Domail, officials said that the man again took lift in a truck transporting essential commodities to Mahore for reaching Reasi. “The person travelled all the way from Red Zone areas of Kashmir to Reasi without informing district administration, hiding his travel history and thereby putting at risk his family members and general public of Reasi at large, negligently and malignantly promoted spreading infectious disease dangerous to human beings,” officials said.

In this context, police said that Inspector Vijay Thakur, Station House Officer (SHO) Reasi along with Munshi Ram, Tehsildar Reasi swung into action and immediately got the person quarantined with the assistance of health authorities.

Meanwhile, a case under FIR number 39/2020 under section 269/270/188 IPC has been registered at Reasi police station while further investigation of the case is going on, police said.
