Shopian, Apr 10: Police on Friday booked a BJP leader, who is also the Block Development Chariman in south Kashmir’s Shopian district for violating prohibitory orders.
Sources told KNT that BJP’s BDC from Panchayat Halqa Heerpora was roaming freely in different Shopian villages. Despite being warned the said BJP leader kept on moving around.
Sources said that police finally booked the said BDC chairman.
A police official said that a formal FIR vide number 12/2020 under section 188, 269 was registered against the violator at Police Station Heerpora Shopian.
He identified the said BJP leader as Saleem Sheikh of Heerpora Shopian.
Pertinently, Shopian has 13 positive Covid-19 cases where besides, Kanipora, Heerpora has already been declared as red zones. (KNT)
