Woman BJP leader fires in air to kill Coronavirus

Balrampur, Apr 6: A case has been registered against a senior woman BJP leader in the district for firing shots in the air while observing Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘9 baje, 9 minute’ appeal on Sunday night.
According to police here on Monday, district BJP Mahila Morcha president Manju Tiwari, after lighting ‘diyas’ at her residence, fired shots in the air. The video of the incident was uploaded in the social media by the leader herself , taking cognisance of which, the City Kotwali police registered a case against her this morning.
Superintendent of Police (SP) Devranjan Verma told UNI that people had come on their balconies and terraces to light candles, diyas, torches etc, to express solidarity in the fight against the Coronavirus on the call of the Prime Minister on Sunday night.
Meanwhile, Manju Tiwari fired in the air to kill the virus from the terrace of her home situated in the Khalwa mohalla in the Nagar Kotwali area.
In-charge Inspector of Nagar Kotwali has registered a case into the matter against the accused and probe is on.
Meanwhile, UP Congress president Ajay Kumar Lallu has questioned the BJP government of the state about the incident. “BJP leaders and workers are ahead of others in violating the lockdown norms,” he alleged.
He has also sought to know the action Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath takes against the party leader.
