On PM’s call, people light candles, diyas to express solidarity in fight against COVID-19

New Delhi, Apr 5: People in Delhi on Sunday night lit candles, diyas and torches on call by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to mark national fight against Coronavirus.

The Prime Minister lit a lamp at his residence at Lok Kalyan Marg after switching off all the lights for 9 minutes at 9 PM on Sunday.

Ministers of the union cabinet also lit earthen lamps and candles in the balcony of their houses in the national capital.

Health Minister Dr Harsh Vardhan lit an earthen lamp, to show support for the call by PM Modi while Home Minister Amit Shah lit earthen lamps after turning off all lights at his residence.

PM had appealed to people to switch off their lights at 9 pm for nine minutes on April 5 as mark of solidarity against the Coronavirus.
