COVID-19 outbreak: PM Modi holds meeting with CMs to assess situation

New Delhi, Apr 2: Prime Minister Narendra Modi, on Thursday, held a meeting with Chief Ministers via video conferencing on COVID-19 situation in the country.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and Health Minister Harsh Vardhan were also present.

Chief Ministers of Bihar Nitish Kumar, his counterparts Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy in Andhra Pradesh, Jai Ram Thakur in Himachal Pradesh, Arvind Kejriwal in Delhi and K Chandrasekhara Rao in Telangana were among those who participated via video-conferencing.

With 298 fresh positive cases, the total number of such cases has gone up to 1,965 while 12 more deaths were also reported across the nation, taking the toll to 50, the Government said.
The active COVID-19 cases till Thursday morning stood at 1764, the Health Ministry said.
A total of 150 cases have been cured and discharged, the Ministry added.
