Jammu-Srinagar highway remains closed for 5th day

Srinagar, Mar 21: Jammu-Srinagar National Highway remained closed for the fifth consecutive day on Tuesday.
Police said that landslide at Dalwas village near Ramban district have led to the closure of 270-km highway. “Men and machinery are on job but it will take time to clear the debris,”  a police official said.  

Quoting sources the GNS said that the trucks laden with essential goods and oil tankers bound for Kashmir have been stopped at Udhampur and Jammu.

Inspector general of Police, Traffic J&K, T. Namgyal told GNS that there was no chance of reopening the highway today. “Hopefully, the highway may be restored for traffic tomorrow but we will communicate it,” he added.
