Fresh spell of rain likely from Mar 31 to Apr 2

Jammu:  A fresh spell of rain is expected in Jammu and Kashmir from March 31 to April 2, the MeT section has said.

A weatherman here said that currently weather is generally cloudy in Ladakh and Kashmir and mainly clear in Jammu region.

“A fresh spell of intermittent light to moderate rain in plains and snowfall over higher reaches of J&K and Zojila, Drass and some areas of Zanskar region of Ladakh is most likely during March 31 to April to 2.

He said as usual, it may led to landslides in Banihal-Ramban axis of Jammu -Srinagar National Highway.

Thunderstorm with strong gusty winds of the order of 30-40 KMPH is also likely during above period, he said and added, “in view of this, farmers are informed to postpone spraying of their orchards, prepare drainage to drain excess water from their fields”.

The spell of rain may led to landslides at vulnerable places like Banihal-Ramban, Heavy snowfall on Zojila pass which may hamper Traffic on these High ways. During above period, days will be colder and cloudy and night will be slightly warmer.

All concerned are requested to take note of the anticipated inclement weather.
