Ganderbal: Police in its recent action against drug dealings in Ganderbal arrested a drug peddler and recovered contraband substance from his possession.
Based on specific input about possession of consignment of drugs in a residential house belonging to Aijaz Ahmad Banai resident of Waliwar Lar area of Ganderbal district, Ganderbal Police raided the house.
During search of the house, Police have been able to recover 3.5Kgs of Bung from the house. The house owner has been arrested and shifted to Police Station Lar where he remains in custody.
A case vide FIR number 17/2020 under relevant sections of law has been registered in Police Station Lar and investigation into the matter has been initiated.
Community members are requested to come forward with any information regarding drug peddlers in their neighbourhood. Persons found indulging in m peddling will be dealt as per law.
Our consistent actions against drug peddlers should reassure the community members that we are making efforts to keep our society free from the scourge of drug menace as reiterated in our community meetings. (KNT)
