Covid-19: 3330 persons under observation in J&K

Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir government on Friday said that 3330 travelers and persons are under surveillance in the Union Territory while as 43 people were admitted in different hospitals across Kashmir.

According to KNO, Nodal officer for coronavirus in Kashmir valley Dr S M Qadri so far 43 patients with symptoms of coronavirus were received by different hospitals of Kashmir.

“Out of 43, 25 are being treated at SKIMS Soura besides one positive case of coronavirus, two at GMC Srinagar while as 15 are treated at chest disease hospital Srinagar,” he added.

He said that the husband and daughter-in-law of an elderly woman who was tested positive for coronavirus, have been tested negative. “Both are in isolation and are stable,” he said adding that the elderly woman from Khanyar is also stable and is under observation.

He further added that authorities have already collected samples of those people who came in contact of elderly woman.  Meanwhile, an official said that the report of son-in-law of first positive case from Khanyar, Imtiyaz Ismail, who is SSP Crime at present is still awaited.

Imtiyaz on Friday tweeted “want to update the wellwishers again: 2 family members including father-in-law tested negative. Mother in law recovering very well  you the grace of god. Thanku all for prayers n support.  But we are following the due protoco… Thank admin… “.

Last night he tweeted ” Updating all well-wishers, mother-in-law(Coronavirus patient) doing well at SKIMS, rest of my family also following necessary protocol. Although, no direct contact was made yet, I am also going into isolation. Urge all to leave nothing to chance and follow government directives strictly.” Meanwhile nodal officer for coronavirus at SKIMS Dr G H Yatoo told KNO that no patient with symptoms of coronavirus was received by Institute today.

“One positive patient and all others have been tested negative so for, he said adding that all precautions are being taken in dealing with these patients,” he said. As per the daily information bulletin, J&k government said that 3330 persons in jammu and Kashmir are under observation while as 2465 persons are under home quarantine.

According to the bulletin on novel coronavirus, 44 person are under hospital quarantine while as 416 persons are in home surveillance. 405 persons have complete their surveillance period of 28 days and so far 04 persons have been tested positive for coronavirus in Jammu and Kashmir. Furthermore 178 out of 186 samples have been tested negative so far while as 04 have been tested positive and reports of 04 are yet to come—(KNO)
