Militant Hideouts Busted In Kulgam, Tral

Srinagar: Police on Wednesday claimed to have busted militant hideouts in Kulgam and Tral areas of south Kashmir.

“Based on a credible input, Kulgam Police with the assistance of security forces busted a militant hideout belonging to proscribed outfit LeT in Akhal forest area of Kulgam,” a police spokesman said.

Police have recovered incriminating materials including explosive materials used for making IEDs and other incriminating documents from the hideout, he said.

“A case FIR No. 16/2020 under relevant sections of law has been registered in Police Station Devsar in this regard and investigations initiated,” he said.

Similarly, the spokesman said that based on a credible input, Awantipora Police with the assistance of 42RR and CRPF busted a hideout of proscribed outfit JeM in Buchoo, Kamala forests area of Awantipora.

“Police have recovered incriminating materials including explosive materials from the hideout.”

A case FIR No.20/2020 under relevant sections of law has been registered in Police Station Tral in this regard, he said.

The incriminating materials recovered at both the hideouts have been seized by the police and taken into case records for the purpose of investigations, he added. (GNS)
