Fresh spell of snow, rain lashes parts of HP

Shimla:  Fresh spell of snow and rain lashed many places of Himachal Pradesh increasing and prolonging the cold wave in the state as night temperature went down four degrees below normal on Thursday.
According to the Met Office, during last 24 hours, light to moderate precipitation recorded almost at all places with heavy rainfall and snow at isolated places over the state.
High reaches of Himachal Pradesh including Rohtang pass, Lady of Keylong, Seven sister’s hill and Goshal in L&S, Kinnaur Kailash and Chitkul in Kinnaur, Dodra Kawar, Chanshal pass and Churdhar of Shimla, Shikaridevi in Mandi, Dhauladhar in Kangra and Manimehash and Sachpass in Chamba district received snowfall.
The Met Office recorded 45 cm snow at Gondla in Lahaul Spiti, Kalpa-in Kinnuar 21 cm, Kothi in L&S 15 cm, Khadrala in Shimla 15.2 cm, Kufri-10cm, Bharmaour in Chamba 5 cm.
Dalhousie in Chamba received 64 mm rain, Kothi in L&S 60 mm, Sangla in Kinnuar 47.4mm, Chamba: 43mm, Dharamshala in Kangra 42mm, Renuka in Sirmaur 40mm, Manali in Kullu 33mm, Guler in Kangra 31.5 mm, Palampur 32 mm, Kangra 34.2mm, Sujanpur Tira in Hamirpur 32.5mm, Nadaun 31mm, Naina Devi in Bilaspur 34.2mm, Pachhad in Sirmaur 32.2mm, Pounta Sahib 34.4mm, Bijahi in Mandi 31mm and Shimla 22 mm.
Minimum temperature of Keylong was recorded at minus 2.8 degrees Celsius, Kalpa minus 0.9 degrees, Manali minus 0.8 degrees, Kufri minus 0.7 degrees, Dalhousie in Chamba 0.8 degrees and Shimla 2.5 degrees, Bhuntar in Kullu 7.3 degrees, Sundernagar 8.7 degrees, Solan 7.5 degrees, Palampur in Kangra Seven degrees, and Chamba 8.6 degrees.
Kangra 10 degrees, Mandi nine degrees, Hamirpur 11.8 degress, Una 11.2, Bilaspur 12 degrees and Nahan 13.3 degrees.
Met Office forecast rainfall or snow very likely to occur at most places over the state with heavy fall at isolated places.
Light to moderate Rainfall or snowfall very likely at many paces over the state on 13 and 14 March 2020. Significant fall in day temperature during next three days, the Met office added.
