GANDERBAL, MARCH 07: To educate progressive farmers about modern methodologies of farming, the District Development Commissioner (DDC), Ganderbal, Shafqat Iqbal, flagged off farmers exposure tour under MIDH scheme which was organized by the Horticulture Department, here today.
As many as 65 farmers of the district are visiting Central Institute of Temperature Horticulture, Srinagar, during the tour with the objective to get exposed to the new technological interventions in Horticulture.
Interacting with the farmers, the DDC urged them to avail benefits of the programme for better yield. He said that such tours will help the farmers to acquaint themselves with the latest technology and farming practices.
He also asked the Chief Horticulture Officer to ensure more such visits are organized for progressive farmers of the district to acquaint the fruit growers with emerging trends in horticulture.
