NIA arrests two more accused in Pulwama attack case

Srinagar: National Investigation Agency has arrested two more accused in connection with Pulwama attack. One of the accused is the son of a Junior Engineer.
An NIA official told KNT that in the continuing investigation of the Pulwama attack last year in which more than 40 CRPF personnel were killed, NIA arrested two more accused identified as Waiz ul Islam, (19), son of Ghulam Haider Ganai of Baghe Mehtab, Srinagar and Muhamamd Abbas Rather, (32) son of Muhammad Ramzan Rather of Hakripora, Pulwama.
During initial interrogation, accused Waiz ul Islam has disclosed that he used his Amazon online shopping account to procure chemicals for making IEDs, batteries and other accessories on the directions of the Pakistani JeM militants. He also personally delivered the items to the JeM militants after procuring the incriminating material online as a part of the conspiracy to carry out the Pulwama attack.
Accused Muhammad Abbas Rather is an old Over-Ground Worker (OGW) of JeM. He has disclosed that he gave shelter at his home to Jaish terrorist Mohd Umar (IED expert) after Umar came to Kashmir in April-May 2018. Further, he also harboured JeM militants namely Adil Ahmad Dar, Sameer Ahmed Dar and Kamran (Pakistani) at his house a number of times in the run up to the Pulwama attack. He also facilitated safe shelter for the JeM militants, including the suicide bomber Adil Ahmed Dar and others at the house of the accused Tariq Ahmed Shah and his daughter Insha Jan of Hakripora, Pulwama, who have already been arrested on March 3.

The two arrested accused shall be produced before the NIA Special Court at Jammu tomorrow. Further investigation in the case continues. (KNT)
