CRPF man injured, weapons damaged as fire erupts in Kupwara Army camp

Kupwara:  A Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) man was injured while several weapons including guns got damaged after the fire broke out from a single-story building within the Army’s 41 Rasthriya Rifles camp at Khumriyal Kalaroose in north Kashmir’s kupwara district on Tuesday evening.

According to wire service—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), an official said that the fire erupted this evening at a structure within the Army camp at Kalaroose. The CRPF men who were sent to Kashmir last year are currently stationed in the building.

The official said that fire engulfed some structures after CRPF men were working there, adding that the cause of fire was not ascertained yet.

A CRPF man who was nearer o the building which caught fire has suffered burn injuries in one of his arm and is stated to be out of danger, the official said, adding that weapons kept there are believed to have suffered damage, saying that the approx number is estimated about five in number (Either Insas or AK-47) and other gadgets have probably turned to ashes as well.

Confirming the incident, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Kupwara Shriram Ambarkar said that one of the structure (Bark) caught fire, which was brought under control immediately.

He further said that more investigation is going on while the cause of fire isn’t know so far —(KNO)
