Srinagar: Two Over Ground Workers (OGWs) were arrested by police during a search operation in south Kashmir district of Pulwama, a police spokesman said Tuesday evening.
He said the arrests were made during a search operation in Gulbugh area in Pulwama late last night.
They have been identified as Aquib Maqbool Lone resident of Ratnipora Pulwama and Naseer Ahmad Hurra resident of Gulbugh Pulwama.
He said as per police records they were involved in assisting the active militants operating in the areas of Pulwama. Incriminating materials including explosive substance and ammunition were recovered from their possession.
Accordingly to the investigation they were conspiring to facilitate the carrying out of militant attacks in the areas of Pulwama thereby disrupting peace and normal activities.
Case FIR No. 11/2020 under relevant sections of law has been registered and further investigation in the matter is in progress.
