DDC Bandipora reviews status of languishing projects, Jal Jeevan Mission

Bandipora : Deputy Commissioner Bandipora Shahbaz Ahmad Mirza Monday chaired a meeting of officers to review the status of languishing projects and progress of Jal Jevan Mission in the district.

The meeting was also attended by Joint Director Planning Imtiyaz Ahmad, Executive Engineers of various department other senior officers of the district.

On the occasion, DC Bandipora directed the officers to speed up the works with improvement in weather so as to complete the projects at earliest.

He said the paper work including tendering process has been completed in most of the left over works and now with improvement in weather the work has been started again on ground to complete the projects.

Meeting was informed that 79 projects have been approved under languishing projects being funded through the Jammu & Kashmir Infrastructure Development Finance Corporation (JKIDFC) Limited and an amount of Rs 151.89 Cr have been approved for the completion of these projects including an amount of Rs 67.46 Cr for early completion of 38 Water supply schemes.

Furthermore, 21 projects of R&B, 2 projects of PDD and 4 projects of Health and Medical Education have also been approved under the scheme.

He said regular review meetings are being conducted for implementation and monitoring of JKIDFC approved projects.

DDC Bandipora directed the officers and executing agencies to ensure completion of all works within stipulated time frame and also stressed for regular field visits to ensure works are executed on time and under set quality parameters.

He stressed upon the officers to work in coordination for achieving all the set targets on time besides gear up their men and machinery for bringing additional vibrancy in the departmental functioning.

While reviewing the implementation of Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) in the district, DC Bandipora said under Jal Jeevan Mission (Har Ghar Nal) the recent survey report provides complete detail of households with and without functional tap water connections in the district.

He said after obtaining the survey results, PHE Department has been asked to provide functional Household Tap Connections to unconnected 13778 HHs of the district.

It was given out that efforts are on to provided water supply to left out households.

On the occasion, DC Bandipora reviewed the progress of all the ongoing water supply schemes of the district and directed to expedite the work on these projects so that pure drinking water can be provided to the people.

He urged the officials to fill the gaps for effective implementation of JJM which envisages providing every household Piped Water in the district as providing safe drinking water to all is the core of this Mission
