PULWAMA: Acting tough upon the complaints against illegal mining in the the district, the Deputy Commissioner, Dr Raghav Langer accompanied by the officials of Geology & Mining and Road Transport conducted nocturnal raids across the district.
The team raided various areas including Kakapora, Pinglena, Khadermoh, Koil, Ugergund, Gulshan Pora, Lasssipora and Padgam Pora.
During the raids 50 tippers were seized and black listed while the Mining Supervisor of Geology and Mining Department was suspended for dereliction of his duty.
The documents of the seized Tippers have been impounded and black listed by the ARTO. The DC directed the ARTO to cancel the RCs, Driving Licences and Permits of the seized vehicles, besdides directing the District Lead Bank Manger to instruct all the banks to seek registration of tire mounted earth mining vehicles through transport Department before sanctioning loans.
The DC reiterated zero tolerance policy of the district administration policy against illegal mining and asked the concerned to act tough against the violators.
