Fresh Cease Fire Violation In Gurez Sector

Bandipora: Pakistan Army on Tuesday morning resorted to intense firing along the Line of Control (LoC) in Bagtore area of Gurez in north Kashmir’s Bandipora district.

Sources said that Pakistan army resorted to heavy firing since early Tuesday morning in Bagtore area. They said that there were, however, no reports of any damage to life or property in the area.

“At around 6:30 Pakistan army restored to LMG firing along the Line of Control which was effectively retaliated by the Indian army. There was, however, no report of any damage to property or life,” they said.

Sources said that the Pakistan army had resorted to intense firing and shelling last night also in Bagtore area of Gurez. The firing continued for about 15-20 minutes and later stopped, they said.

On Sunday an army soldier was injured in ceasefire violation by Pakistan army in the same area near Panth post.

He was identified as Sandeep Yadav of 6 Maratha regiment of Indian army. He was posted on Panth post where the ceasefire violation took place. The army soldier was evacuated to army’s 92 base hospital in Srinagar on the same day.(KNO)
