PDF stands shoulder to shoulder with public in protecting Article 35-A: Hakeem Yaseen

Srinagar, Jul 31: Chairman Peoples Democratic Front (PDF), Hakeem Yaseen Wednesday hailed the lawyers community and civil society members of Jammu for their unanimous call to strengthen Article 370 and Article 35-A.
In a statement, Hakeem Yaseen said that Jammu lawyer’s deserve high commendations for voicing their concern against fiddling with the Article 35-A and Article 370, which guarantees special status to Jammu and Kashmir state. He said majority of the people now know that Maharaja Hari Singh had brought these laws for protecting the identity and integrity of the state and well being of its people.
Hakeem Yaseen said that his party PDF responds positively to the call of Jammu lawyers for forging unity among masses to defeat nefarious designs of political opportunists who are hell bent to create a wedge among communities on the basis Article 370 and Article 35-A.
Responding to the call given by local political parties for holding an All Party meet, Hakeem Yaseen said his party was ready to support any such initiative that was aimed at protecting the special status of the state, provided it was based on sincerity of purpose. “But unfortunately these parties are habitual of double speak,” Hakeem Yaseen said adding that they speak in one language within the state and different language outside the state that suits their motives.
“A political party, vouching for unity on the issue of Article 370 and Article
35-A, has recently overtly or covertly supported passage of Triple Talaaq Bill and RTI Bill in the Parliament whereas other party was seeking a hearing from centre on the issue. Then what for “All Party Meet,” Hakeem Yaseen questioned?.
He said people of the state understand well the double speak of these political establishments and they can’t be befooled anymore.
“In fact, majority of the people in Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh have understood well the significance of Article 370 and Article 350-A of the Constitution of India for their survival and existence and are themselves ready to fight a long battle to protect these constitutional guarantees at all costs.
