JKYF distributes six lakh rupees among 43 families in Kishtwar

 

Srinagar, Jul 22: J&K Yateem Foundation on Monday distributed about Rs 06 lakh among 43 families including 06 families from the minority community, at Kagrana Keshwan in Kishtwar district of Jammu province. Kagrana village is located about 25 km from Kishtwar headquarters.
The spokesman said that thirty-five persons including 14 women, one infant and 20 men lost their lives in a horrible road accident at Keshwan Kishtwar on July 01.
JKYF team distributed cheques of Rs 10,000/ each among 26 victim families at Keshwan, Kistwar during its latest tour to the area. JKYF also decided to adopt three victim children who lost their fathers in the accident and would be formally admitted at BAITUL HILAL (Orphanage), Hudri Kishtwar, at the time of new admissions this November.
Under the directive of Chairman JKYF, a central team from Srinagar comprising senior volunteers Mohammad Yaqoob Reshi, Mohammad Iqbal Beigh and Mohammad Sadullah Bhat, was deputed to Kishtwar for the purpose.
The team was joined by the senior volunteers of Jammu, Doda, Bhaderwah, Thathri and Kishtwar units of Jammu province. These include Mushtaq Ahmad Bhat, Irfan Ahmad Zargar and Zakir Hussain from Jammu district, Mohammad Abass Waza and Mohammad Iqbal Kelam from Kishtwar district, Irshad Hussain from Bhaderwah and Shabir Ahmad from Thathri.
Local Kishtwar volunteer Ghulam Nabi Bhat, a teacher by profession, provided refreshment to all the kins of the victim families who attended solemn cheque distribution function at his residence.
Earlier, JKYF had released an interim relief Rs 2.74 lakh soon after the mishap occurred. The relief included Ration Kits, Shroud cloth for deceased, cash assistance etc that was distributed immediately after the horrible accident, among all victim families. In addition, a supplementary amount of Rs 60 thousand has been released for all the injured persons in the accident.
The amount distributed among victim families was pooled by all the district units of JKYF from both Kashmir and Jammu provinces.
JKYF team also visited Senior Volunteer Javaid Ahmad Kraipak’s residence to condole his cousin brother’s sad demise recently. The team conveyed condolences on behalf of JKYF and prayed to Allah for eternal peace to the departed soul, ‘Jannatul Firdous‘ and forbearance for the bereaved.
