Roads in Arath village in worse condition

Locals demand immediate attention of administration

Budgam, Jul 11: The roads leading to village Arath of Budgam is in a worse condition and has been left without any repair for last twenty years, making the life of residents miserable.
A group of locals from the area said that the said road, despite being a small stretch of only four to five KMs has never been metal topped or repaired in last twenty years.
“Our lives have become miserable due to the bad condition of the road. Children face difficulty in going to the school, while public transport skips the route due to its bad condition, making the travel for locals difficult”, they said.
The locals said that during the rains, this road becomes inaccessible, due to water logging and when dry, the dust erupting from the road becomes a health hazard for them. They complained about water scarcity as well.
Deputy Development Commissioner Budgam, Syed Sehrish, when apprised of the complaint, said that she will look in matter and will address their problems, however invited the representatives of the area to visit her office and give her the details of the difficulties they are faced with and assured their redressal.
