CBI joins crackdown against corruption

Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has launched a massive countrywide crackdown against graft and the agency has carried out multiple raids across the country.
According to the media reports more than 13 places have been searched in Jammu and Kashmir and the main focus of the CBI raids has been on the fake gun license scam in the state.
The NDA 2.0 led by the Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, has sent a clear message to the people involved in corruption across the country that coming days are not going to be easy for them.
The Prime Minister leading Bharatiya Janata Party to a thumping victory in 2019 Lok Sabha elections for the second consecutive term is a clear endorsement of PM Modi’s policies to act tough against the people, who have amassed huge wealth disproportionate to their known sources of income, during all these years.
The fake gun licence scam in Jammu and Kashmir has remained in news for the past many years. The preliminary investigations had revealed that these licences could not have been issued without the involvement of the top officials. The investigations in this scam were not carried out at the desired pace due to the pulls and pressures. However, the situation seems to have changed as the CBI has come out with all guns blazing and it appears that the premiere investigating agency is all set to nail the people involved in fake gun license scam in Jammu and Kashmir.
The CBI probing this infamous scam could be a beginning of yet another chapter of the crusade against corruption in Jammu and Kashmir. This time around it seems that the war against corruption across the country has entered into a decisive phase and the people who used to think that they are above the law are the prime targets of the anti-graft agencies.
