Police arrest 4 drug peddlers in north Kashmir

 

Baramulla, Jul 4: Jammu and Kashmir police recovered brown sugar and arrested four notorious drug peddlers in Kupwara and Sopore in north Kashmir, a police spokesman said on Thursday evening.
He said on a tip off Police along-with Executive Magistrate and respectable citizens on a specific information raided the house of one person Maqsood Ahmad Mir resident of Saidpora recovered brown sugar about 850 grams of brown sugar approximately.
Case FIR No. 29/2019 under relevant sections of law has been registered and initiated investigation in the matter.
Meanwhile, a police party during a naka checking at Choora arrested two drug peddlers Sajad Ahmad Lone and Abdul Majid Lone, both residents of Tujjar Shareef Sopore. He said 1.5 kgs of charas and a vehicle seized.
Case FIR No. 70/2019 under relevant sections of law has been registered and initiated investigations in the matter.
Meanwhile, at another checkpoint established at railway crossing Amargrah Sopore, police arrested two drug peddlers Nissar Ahmad Kumar resident of Plan Bandipora and Mohammad Ashraf Bhat resident of Rebban Sopore. for the drug supply offences have been taken to Police Station Tarzoo where they remain in custody. 1.5 kgs of charas has been recovered from their possession.
Case FIR No. 71/2019 under relevant sections of law has been registered and investigation has been taken up.
Community members are requested to come forward with any information regarding drug peddlers in their neighborhood. Persons found indulging in drug peddling will be dealt as per law.
