Hakeem Yaseen cautions against tinkering with Art 370

Srinagar, Jul 2: A meeting of the core group of Peoples Democratic Front (PDF), unit Chrar-e-Sharif was held on Tuesday to review prevailing political situation and development scenario in the state with special reference to district Budgam.
Chairman PDF, Hakeem Yaseen presided over the meeting.
The meeting reiterated PDF’s demand for holding elections in the state without any delay to restore democratic rights of the people.
It was resolved that Art.370 and Art 35-A of the Constitution of India were permanent and any misadventure to tinker with these articles shall have disastrous consequences.
Speaking on the occasion, Hakeem Yaseen cautioned against fiddling with Art 370 which guarantees special status to the state. He said people of the state are ready to give highest sacrifices to protect the special status of the state adding that any effort to scrap the Art. 370 would be defeated with stiff resistance from the people of the state.
The meeting expressed dis-satisfaction over the slow pace of development in various parts of Kashmir valley where condition of the total road network is in shambles. Water and electric supply is negligible and health care delivery system is in total disarray.
The meeting demanded early elections to put in place an elected popular government so that people are able to seek redressal of their grievances through their elected public representatives of their respective areas.
