DC Ganderbal takes stock of ongoing Yatra arrangements at Baltal, Domel

Ganderbal, Jul 3: District Development Commissioner Ganderbal, Hashmat Ali Khan, today visited Baltal Base Camp, Domel and Neelgrath Helipad along with team of district officers where he took stock of the arrangements being put in place for the smooth conduct of ongoing Shri AmarnathJi Yatra via Baltal route.
SSP Ganderbal, Khalil Poswal, ADDC Ganderbal, Shafqat Iqbal, SSP Yatra, SSP JPCR, SDM Kangan, Executive Engineers from R&B, PHE and PDD, Camp Directors besides other officials from SASB, Rashtriya Rifles, CRPF, Army, Police, Health, Civil Defense, Transport, Tourism, Fire and other emergency services besides representatives of Pony/dandi walas were also present.
During the visit, DDC took stock of various essential services and arrangements including improvements at the access control gates, establishment of camps, shelter sheds along Yatra track, medical camps, availability of labours, pony walas, dandi walas, Emergency Operation Centers (EOCs) at various locations, provision of drinking water supply, fire wood, lighting, LPG, ration, Medicine etc.
DDC directed the Camp Directors and other functionaries responsible for sanitation of Yatra track and en-route to closely monitor the day-to-day sanitation work at the Yatra camps, functioning of toilets, bath units, clean bedding and to maintain close coordination to ensure cleanliness and hygiene in the Yatra area and the Base Camps.
He also directed all senior officers to personally supervise the arrangements pertaining to their Departments at all levels and directed them to continuously keep inspecting the facilities throughout the Yatra period besides put every effort for improvement with regard to safe, secure and convenient yatra.
Later, DDC along with all concerned officers visited langer sites, Camps, Helipad and took a first-hand appraisal of facilities being provided to the Yatris. He directed Food Safety Officer to take food items from the lungers for testing on a daily basis besides Exen PHE was directed to ensure that water quality is also checked on a daily basis.
