Governor, Farooq, Omar, Mehbooba, ors express grief

Srinagar, Jun 27: Governor Satya Pal Malik has expressed grief over the loss of lives in a road accident in Shopian district.
In a condolence message, Governor has conveyed his sympathies to the bereaved families and prayed for peace to the departed souls.
Governor has announced an ex-gratia of Rs 5 lakh each to the next of the kin of the deceased.
Governor directed the administration to provide best medical treatment to the injured in the accident and wished speedy recovery to them.
Jammu and Kashmir National Conference President Dr.Farooq Abdullah and vice president Omar Abdullah on Thursday expressed deep sorrow over the tragic road accident near Pir Ki Gali resulting in 11 deaths.
The duo in their message prayed for peace to the departed souls and strength to the grief stricken families to bear the inconsolable loss. The duo has also urged the divisional administration of Jammu to give best of medical treatment to the injured.
Meanwhile, party general secretary Ali Muhammad Sagar, provincial president Nasir Aslam Wani, Aijaz Jan, Javed Rana has also expressed grief over the incident. The leaders have also urged the administration to ascertain the causes of the accident.
Former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister and President Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Mehbooba Mufti on Thursday expressed grief over the loss of lives in a tragic road accident in South Kashmir’s Shopian district.
Eleven students including nine girls were killed and seven others injured after a vehicle they were travelling in skidded off the road and rolled into a deep gorge near Peer Ki Gali on Mughal road in Shopian
The PDP President conveyed her sympathy to the families of the deceased passengers. She also expressed serious concern over the recurring road accidents in the mountainous regions of the state and demanded that the government must review the causes of the recurring fatal accidents and take measures to save the precious lives on priority.
Mehbooba also urged the administration to provide best medical treatment to the injured in the accident and wished speedy recovery to them.
Meanwhile, the Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) President G A Mir also has expressed profound grief over the loss of eleven precious lives and conveyed deepest condolences to bereaved families.
In a statement G A Mir expressed profound grief over the loss of eleven precious lives including nine girls, as reported, in a tragic accident near Peer Ki Gali, describing it as highly unfortunate and painful.
“Pained to hear about the loss of precious lives in a tragic accident, my deepest condolences to bereaved families. I pray for the speedy recovery of injured people,” Mir said.
Mir said, “ I am disappointed over the frequent incident of accidents, which have cost many precious lives in past and present also, emphasizing the Authorities dealing with vehicular movement to take effective measures to ensure the safety of people while travelling in hilly and plain areas in the State.”
“I express my solidarity with the bereaved families and pray for eternal peace to the departed soul,” G.A. Mir added and said his (Mir’s) heart goes out for those who lost their dear ones in this tragic accident and prayed for their courage to bear this irreparable loss.
