Pattan, Jun 26: A programme on International Day against drug abuse and illicit trafficking was organised on Wednesday by Block Medical Officer (BMO) Pattan in collaboration with Chief Medical officer (CMO) Baramulla at Higher Secondary School Pattan in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district.
The International Day against drug abuse and Illicit trafficking is observed annually on 26 June, since 1989. The observance was instituted by General Assembly Resolution 42/112 of 7 December 1987.
The programme was organized by Health department Baramulla and Pattan at Higher Secondary School Pattan where CMO Bramulla Dr. Bashir Ahmad Chalkoo was chief Guest and BMO. Pattan Dr. Tasavur was guest of honor on the occasion.
Principal HSS Pattan, Doctors and other Officials of Pattan area were also present on the occasion briefed students about drug addiction.
Many students from different institutions also took part in programme and were awarded by BMO. Pattan.
The main focus of the programme was to give awareness among students about good health and how to remain away from drugs.
Meanwhile, CMO Baramulla Dr. Bashir Ahmad Chalkoo said that doctors, teachers, police, parents and other departments should cooperate with each other to keep away children’s from drugs and help to build a prosperous nation.
