Handwara residents seek intervention of Guv Malik for Women’s degree college

 

Srinagar, Jun 23: Let down by political leaders for decades together, the Handwara residents have sought the intervention of Governor Satya Pal Malik and his Advisor Khursheed Ganai, holding the port folio of higher education department for their timely intervention in establishing a Women’s degree college at Handwara from where the class 12 girl pass outs are forced to take rented accommodations in adjoining Baramulla district.
Dozens of respectables of Handwara and adjoining areas told Kashmir News Service that though Women Degree College was announced by the previous Mehbooba government but no follow up action was taken to make the college functional.
Saying that thousands of class 12 girl pass outs are forced to take rented accommodations in Baramulla and Sopore towns for pursuing college education in women colleges there, the respectables said sought the immediate intervention of Governor Satya Pal Malik and his Advisor Khursheed Ahmad Ganai, holding the port folio of higher education department for immediate action to ensure the functioning of a women college in Handwara town so that the sufferings of thousands of girls of dozens of villages are mitigated at the earliest.
Saying that the heads of public representative and planners should go down in shame to see Handwara residents crying for a woman college in 21st century, the residents hoped that Governor Satya Pal Malik and his Advisor Khursheed Ahmad Ganai will take appropriate steps for establishing a woman college in Handwara and make it operational at the earliest.
