Prof Hajini’s vision can take JK out of continued dilemma: Speakers
Bandipora, Jun 23: Maintaining that vision of late Prof Mahiudin Hajini can take out the people of Jammu and Kashmir from the continued dilemma they are facing, speakers on Sunday said that Hajini was a symbol of Kashmir Identity who fought the exploitation till the last.
Speakers said that Prof Hajini worked for the development of Kashmir identity and fought tactical oppression and cultural onslaught till last while taking the people along.
Galaxy of scholars, academicians and intellectuals on Sunday participated in the day long Hajini Day at Hajin and deliberated on the issues pertaining to Kashmiri language, identity and culture. They also deliberated on the life and times of Prof Hajini during the event.
The function was organised by Halqa Adab Sonawari in collaboration with State Academy of Art, Culture and Languages under the supervision of AMK J&K.
The function was presided over by former Chief Secretary Muhammad Shafi Pandith, Vice Chancellor Central University Prof Merajdin Mir while former Secretary JKBOSE Bashir Ahmed Dar and President AMKJK Farooq Rafiabadi shared the presidium.
During the event Vice Chancellor Central University Kashmir Merajdin Mir announced the establishment of Kashmiri Department at Central University, while former Secretary JKBOSE Bashir Ahmed Dar delivered the Hajini Memorial lecture wherein he deliberated upon the issues pertaining to Kashmiri language in the academics.
Dar urged that scholars and intellectuals should come forward to work for the development of Kashmiri language across the academic section in the state.
In his presidential address, Former Chief Secretary Muhammad Shafi Pandith threw light on the teachings and philosophy of late Mohi-ud-din Hajini and said that he was a prolific writer of his age and worked for the upliftment of Kashmiri language and literature with a missionary zeal.
Dr Aziz Hajini Convenor Kashmiri Sahityia Academy during the opening remarks said that Prof Hajini was a symbol of Kashmiri identity who fought against the exploitation toll his last.
Dr Aziz said that Prof Hajini was man of principles and the best tribute to him is to follow his vision in letter and spirit.
He asserts that the vision of Prof Hajini can take people of Jammu and Kashmir out of the dilemma they are facing from last many years.
On the occasion, this year’s Khilati Hajini was awarded to Prof Basher Basheer. Three books one by Shakir Shafi and two authored by Rashid Jehangiri were also released on the occasion.
Shakir Shafi hold the proceedings during the event while Abdul Ahad Hajini welcomed the guests. A post event poetic session was also organised in collaboration with JK Information Department. (KNS)
