JKPM for making Kashmir as peace corridor for South Asia


Anantnag, Jun 19: JKPM State Executive leader and Supreme Court Advocate Syed Iqbal Tahir has reiterated his party’s resolve for peaceful and amicable resolution of Kashmir conflict.
Speaking at party youth convention at Qazigund, Kulgam, Syed Iqbal highlighted main features of the JKPM agenda adding that his party would leave no stone unturned to resolve the Kashmir problem as per the urges and aspirations of all stake holders.
He said animosity between India and Pakistan has proved very detrimental to the interests of both the neighboring countries. Adv. Iqbal said that there was a dire need for lasting peace in South Asian region, for which, an immediate and result-oriented engagement between the principal parties on Kashmir dispute must be initiated in accordance to the aspirations of the people of Jammu and Kashmir.
He added that the constitutionally-mandated terms and jurisdiction of governance of J&K state must be respected at all costs. He argued that the existing constitutional provisions with respect to the special status of J&K State under the Constitution of India, primarily the Article 370 and the Article 35A, have to be upheld and protected for sustaining the space for peaceful dialogue and resolution.
Iqbal Tahir urged for immediate and result-oriented engagement between the principal parties on Kashmir dispute for stopping continued bloodshed and mayhem in the state.
“JKPM will mobilize all its sources for building a national consensus and reconciliation on J&K issue purely based on the guiding principles of dialogue, and mutual understanding,” Syed Iqbal assured adding that respect and dignity of the people of all regions, sub-regions, social and sub-ethnic groups of J&K state would be safeguarded at all costs.
He said JKPM will seek demilitarization from the civilian areas of the State to dispel the perception that j &k was a police-state. JKPM will fight for rights of all minorities and we want that all displaced people should return to their homes and hearths with dignity and honour.
He demanded revocation of all draconian laws including Armed Forces Special Powers Act which has become the main reason for human rights violations and in justices to the people of Kashmir.
Among others, JKPM leader Mir Mudaasir also addressed the gathering. They appealed the youth to join JKPM and support Dr Shah Faesal. (KNS)
