Cannabis cultivation destroyed in Baramulla

Srinagar, Jun 19: Revenue department on Wednesday destroyed bhang (cannabis) plants in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district.

An official statement said that a special team of revenue department along with police held an anti-bhang drive in upper reaches of Baramulla district and destroyed bhang (cannabis) plants.
The team was headed by Tehsildar Baramulla and DO police post-Delina Mohammad Ashraf, which visited heights of Delina Baramulla and destroyed a large number of cannabis plants, it said.
The statement said during the drive the manpower, as well as machinery including brush cutters, were put in use for efficient destruction of the crop.
Tehsildar Baramulla said the drive was intensified in order to curb the drug menace which ruins our younger generation.
