Rio Ferdinand opens up on possible Man Utd return as sporting director

Rio Ferdinand says he ‘won’t lose sleep’ if Manchester United don’t appoint him as their new sporting director.The Red Devils are hoping to appoint an individual to work alongside manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward to oversee and co-ordinate the club’s transfer policy.Former United defender Ferdinand has emerged as a potential candidate but the club are yet to make a decision on who will fill the position.And the 40-year-old has admitted that he is yet to hear anything, despite holding informal discussions with Woodward.
“I’ve always spoken to Ed since I Ieft, anyway.
