PSBs may get Rs 30000 crore for capital needs

New Delhi, Jun 17: The finance ministry is evaluating the capital needs of state-owned banks, and is likely to provide about Rs 30,000 crore in the upcoming budget to help them meet minimum regulatory capital requirements in the current fiscal, sources said.
The first budget of the NDA-2 government is scheduled to be presented on July 5 by finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman in the backdrop of the economy hitting a five-year low growth rate of 6.8% in 2018-19.
