Windstorm creates havoc in Rajouri, Poonch, man dies

Jammu, Jun 12: A man died while two others sustained injuries as windstorm created havoc in Rajouri and Poonch districts of Jammu and Kashmir.
“During intervening night due to high speed windstorm, one tree fell on a tent of nomad family at upper forest area of Ramwari Gund in Rajouri,” police here said.
They said that one person namely Mohammad Yousuf Kalada (36), and two others namely Ghulam Haider and Abdul Lateef, residents of Rajouri, suffered injuries.
Meanwhile, flash floods also occurred during night at Barrage Site of Patel Engineering Limited at Parnai Hydro Electric Project, Draba, Tehsil Surankote, Poonch due to which major losses of machinery, construction materials was reported.
However, a strong windstorm that continued for several hours on Tuesday night, which created havoc in Rajouri and Poonch by causing huge loss to the property at some places in the area.
Reports reaching here said that windstorm started in late Tuesday evening hours and continued till Wednesday early morning hours.
Residents of Rajouri and Poonch said that storm was too powerful which left everyone scared.
