Sopore shuts against killing of militants

Baramulla, May 31: Normal life was on Friday crippled in the apple township of Sopore due to a strike against the killing of two militants in an encounter with security forces on Thursday in north Kashmir.
A police official said that there were no restrictions in any part of Baramulla though security forces have been deployed in strength to maintain law and order.
Even though there was no strike call given by any separatists group, shops and business establishments were closed and traffic was off the roads in Sopore town and adjoining areas. However, some private vehicles were plying on few roads.
Two militants were on Thursday killed in an encounter which ensued after security forces launched a Cordon and Search Operation (CASO) at Dangerpora, Sopore.
