He has been one of the most talked-about cricketers leading into the World Cup. The West Indian became eligible to play for England after the England Wales Cricket Board decided to tweak its domicile rules recently. He created waves with his incisive bowling for Rajasthan Royals during the IPL which catapulted him into England’s World Cup team after heated debates. All this while, he has kept his calm, and in an interview to TOI, Archer has maintained he is out to enjoy during the World Cup.A lot is expected from you at the World Cup. Are you under pressure? Not really, no. I’m playing four years earlier than I thought I would, playing international cricket for England at a World Cup. I just want to enjoy myself, that’s all.How crucial was your performance for Rajasthan Royals?IPL cricket has done a lot for my development as a cricketer. You’re playing against the best players in the world, week in, week out, in front of packed stands. I really feel that the IPL sets you up well for the pressures World Cup Cricket will exert on a player. You were one of the bst bowlers in the IPL. Does that add to your confidence, given that conditions will be different? It’s always a nice feeling to go well, with so much faith put in me. It gives you confidence when you repay that faith. I know English conditions better than any other conditions, so I’m not really worried. Is there any particular delivery you have been working on?Not really. I just concentrate on making sure I’m consistent with the deliveries I already have – my yorkers, sloer balls, bouncers etc. Most of the batsmen have played against you in the IPL. Do you think they will be ready for you?I guess the more you play in these competitions, the more exposure you get. The more you’re discussed in team meetings, batsmen will find ways to combat what you do. The only way to stay ahead of the curve is to keep trying to get better. That’s what drives me.Who do you think are the most dangerous batsmen now?You can’t look past the trio of Jos (Buttler), Kohli and Warner from my point of view. Jos can hit your best ball out of the ground – he’s a freak! The other two are different. Kohli will be ahead of the game in terms of knowing what you’re going to bowl,
