How long before 8-10 MLAs lose faith: Omar on Karnataka poll results

Srinagar, May 24: Reacting the Deputy CM G Parameshwara’s comment that Karnataka Cabinet has reposed ‘faith and confidence’ in leadership of Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy, National Conference (NC) Vice President Omar Abdullah said the Cabinet is always the last to lose faith and confidence.
How long before 8-10 MLAs lose faith & decide to look for greener pastures, Abdullah, who is the former chief minister of the state, asked.
“The Cabinet is always the last to lose faith & confidence. How long before 8-10 MLAs lose faith & decide to look for greener pastures?” Abdullah wrote on micro-blogging site twitter.
Parameshwara on Friday said that the Congress-JD(S) coalition will continue as mandate in general elections was for Lok Sabha and not the state. “This mandate was for Lok Sabha and not the state, Congress- JD(S) coalition in Karnataka will continue. Efforts to destabilise the government will not succeed. The Karnataka Cabinet reposes ‘faith and confidence’ in leadership of Kumaraswamy,” Parameshwara said.
Congress has never before in the history of Karnataka elections suffered such a crushing defeat. With only two Lok Sabha constituencies in the Congress-JD(S) kitty, the loss has dented the morale of the party, and apprehensions have risen regarding the survival of the state government.
Taking a jibe at wrong predictions for the Lok Sabha results, Abdullah said, “I just remembered to remove all the bookmarks on tweets saying “save this for the 23rd of May”. I did & every single one of them was wrong. I toyed with posting them now but that would be mean.”
“FYI they were all India forecasts not Kashmir specific in case any one thinks I’m having a dig closer to home. I’m not!,” he tweeted.
