RTI activist Irfan Banka selected as delegate for UN conference

Srinagar, May 22: RTI/Social Activist Irfan Banka who is Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Right to Information Foundation (J&K RTI Foundation) has been selected as delegate for UN Conference. Irfan Banka, hailing from Pattan (Baramulla) was selected among thousands of applicants from across the world.
Arab Youth International Model United Nations (AYIMUN) is an annual conference where young leaders from all over the world sit together in an assembly called a Meeting session and each of them play the role as a diplomat representing the country they are assigned to.
A conference where hundreds of youth will gather, Irfan Banka has been selected among 5415 applicants as one of the delegate of Arab Youth International Model United Nations 2019, to be held from 19th to 22nd September 2019 in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. Arab Youth International Model United Nations (AYIMUN) is an exciting opportunity for the youth to foster dialogue on creating change and building peace worldwide. This MUN will consist of talented youth from around the globe providing a diverse and interactive experience.
AYIMUN will challenge delegates to debate on the rising global issues, to draft resolutions in response to the problems, and collaborate with others who are equally motivated and passionate in creating the change.
Irfan Banka said, “It is a great opportunity and I am overwhelmed”. He is looking forward to learn new things and share his idea and discuss rising global issues with the young leaders across the world.
Being an anti-corruption social activist, Irfan had resigned from the Government Service in 2016 and established his full-time Engineering Consultancy Service. As Chairman of J&K RTI Foundation, he is training people with RTI and advocating for its implementation and strengthening in the state of Jammu and Kashmir. (RNA)
