Srinagar, Apr 14: Senior Peoples Conference leader and party’s candidate for Srinagar parliamentary constituency Irfan Raza Ansari on Sunday said National Conference an ally of BJP led NDA government in 1998 shared power several times with Congress the party responsible for erosion of Article 370 including the replacement of the positions of Prime Minister and Sadr-e-Reyasat in Jammu and Kashmir.
Addressing an election rally in Srinagar Irfan Ansari asked Omar Abdullah to explain that since abrogation of Article 370 was on the top of the agenda of BJP in 1998 when Late Attal Bihari Vajpayee was the Prime Minister but why Omar Abdullah choose to become minister of a BJP led NDA Government which had put abrogation of Article 370 on the top of the agenda?”.
Saying that National Conference shared power several times with the Congress party and allowed it to erode article 370 for power and pelf, Ansari said National Conference itself responsible for surrendering the positions of Prime Minister and Sadr-e-Reyasat talking about restoring these positions is a crude joke.
Accusing Farooq Abdullah, Omar Abdullah and other National Conference leader of creating an artificial fear on threats to Article 370 Irfan Ansari said no power on earth can scrap article 370 or article 35-A as constitutional experts in India themselves say that neither the Government Of India nor the parliament of the country has the power and authority to scrap article 370 or article 35-A.
