DAK condoles demise of noted pediatrician Dr Daljit Singh

Srinagar, Apr 12: Doctors Association Kashmir (DAK) on Friday held a condolence meeting at Government Medical College (GMC), Srinagar to mourn the demise of noted pediatrician Dr Daljit Singh.
Dr Singh was operated 20 days back at Artemis Hospital Gurgaon for brain tumour and was shifted to Naryana Hospital Jammu where he breathed his last today at 11 am. He was 79.
Paying rich tributes to the deceased, DAK President Dr Nisar ul Hassan prayed for eternal peace to the departed soul and expressed heartfelt sympathies to the bereaved family.
Dr Hassan said it is a great loss to the medical fraternity and his death has caused a great void in the field of medicine.
“Born in Dardapora Kreeri area of Baramulla, Dr Daljit was a man of impeccable integrity,” he said.
“A medical luminary, Dr Daljit graduated from Indore Medical College and after completing his post-graduation joined GMC Srinagar and became Professor of Pediatrics,” said Dr Hassan, adding that the deceased was instrumental in shaping the neonatal care services in Kashmir Valley.
“His commitment to the welfare of people of the state was commendable. He rendered his services to the people of the state at a time when many doctors left them to fend for themselves,” said Dr Hassan.
