Bomb Disposal Squad defuses grenade in Nowgam

Srinagar, Apr 8: Government forces on Monday defused a live hand grenade at Nowgam in outskirts of Srinagar City.
Official sources said that the grenade was hurled by suspected militants on CRPF 117 battalion at Gulshan Nagar Nowgam. However, the device did not explode, they said.
Soon, a Bomb Disposal Squad besides police, and CRPF reached the spot and later device was defused, they said.
Local shopkeepers alleged that glasses of some shops suffered damage due to the grenade explosion which was destroyed by the BDS. (GNS)
