Pulwama, Apr 4: The ‘callous’ attitude from district administration Pulwama has forced people to clean springs and nallahs themselves in different villages of South Kashmir’s Pulwama district.
Shahoora area including the villages of Tumlahal, Tahab, Trichal, Naira are gifted with natural springs and streams. The locals said that despite several schemes launched by Government of India to clean streams and springs, the district administration has not implemented those in the district.
Locals in Tumlahal village on the directions of Hamid Ullah Hamid who is President Mehfil Bahar-e-Adab Shahoora started a cleanliness drive.
“Large quantity of polythene, garbage and other trash was removed and disposed of properly from these natural streams and springs.”
Locals while pitching for the securing and safeguarding of these natural waterbodies said BDO Lassipra and Pulwama should come forward and take an initiative in this regard. (CNS)
