Militants attack security forces in Baramulla, search operation launched

Srinagar, Mar 20: Militants on Wednesday attacked a security force patrolling party in north Kashmir district of Baramulla.
Official sources said that militants fired at a security force patrolling team at Nambalnar Kandi in Baramulla.
“The security forces retaliated, ensuing in a brief exchange of fire,” they said.
However, they said the militants managed to escape from the spot. “Additional security forces have been rushed to the area and a search operation was launched to nab the attackers,” they said, adding, no one was injured in the attack.
Meanwhile, Police on Wednesday claimed to have busted a militant hideout at Kandi area of Kalantra in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district.
SSP Baramulla Abdul Qayoom said that the joint team of police and army busted a militant hideout at Kandi area of Kalantra adjacent to Nambalnar on Wednesday evening.
