KU students protest

Srinagar, Mar 19: Following the alleged killing of a Awantipora teacher in police custody, the students of University of Kashmir on Tuesday held a protest demonstration against the summoning of Hurriyat Conference (M) chairperson Mirwaiz Umar Farooq by National Investigation Agency and killing of a school teacher in police custody.
Scores of the students from various departments of the varsity marched in the campus of the university and sought thorough investigation in Awantipora teacher’s killing and NIA summons to Mirwaiz Umar.
Earlier, a Awantipora resident Rizwan Asad Pandit, was allegedly killed in a police custody in Srinagar on Monday night. Various political leaders including Mirwaiz Umar Farooq has condemned his killing and sought the time-bound investigation in the case.
