Ex-MLC’s PSO injured in accidental fire in south Kashmir

Srinagar, Mar 17: A Personal Security Officer (PSO) of former MLC and senior National Conference (NC) leader Bashir Veeri was on Sunday injured when his service rifle went off accidently in south Kashmir district of Anantnag.
Official sources said that Constable Jahangir Ahmad, who was deployed as a guard in the residence of Veeri at Housing Colony Khanabal, was cleaning his service rifle on Sunday morning. “The rifle went off accidently, resulting in injuries to Jahangir,” they said.
They injured was immediately taken to a local hospital from where he was referred to Army’s 92 Base Hospital in Srinagar in a critical condition. “The PSO has received bullet injury to his chest,” they added.
