DEO review election preparedness at Anantnag

Anantnag, Mar 12: The District Election Officer (DEO), Anantnag Khalid Jahangir today chaired a meeting of Election Nodal Officers to review the election preparedness for 3-Anantang Parliamentary Constituency.
The meeting discussed the preparations with regard to deployment of manpower, implementation of Model Code of Conduct, training of election staff, preparation of transport plan, security plan, monitoring of election expenditure, media monitoring, randomization of EVMs, VVPATs and engagement of micro observers.
The DEO directed all the nodal officers to work with full devotion to carry out the task assigned to them and to ensure all arrangements to be put in place well in time. He also directed for ensuring the data entry work to be completed by 19th March 2019 and randomization of EVMs be completed by 20th of March 2019.
The nodal officers for manpower and MCC were directed to finalize the lists of employees to be deployed for election duties. Besides, they were also asked to constitute a committee for enforcement of MCC guidelines and to ensure circulation of ECI guidelines to DDOs on MCC so that no employee is involved in violation of MCC. The DEO also directed for all arrangements to be put in place before the filing of nominations which has been scheduled on 28th March 2019.
The District Deputy Education Officer was directed for submitting list of the employees to be engaged as micro observers.
Regarding the requirement of EVMs & VVPAT, the meeting was informed that against a requirement of 1749 EVMs and 1714 VVPATs for the conduct of Parliamentary elections 2019 in the district, 1790 EVMs and 1940 VVPATs are available.
The meeting was attended by ADCs, District Dy. Election Officer and all the Nodal Officer related with election process.
