Bandipora, Mar 10: Shehjar Youth Foundation Bandipora organise one day seminar on demand for women’s college in Bandipora.
The civil society of Bandipora students and many other personalities of Kashmir Professor Ismail Ashana, Dr Mustafa founder of Shehjar Foundation, Adv Mudasir Nazir Wani and many other people were present on the occasion.
Adv Mudasir Nazir Wani said it’s is a need of hour to establish women’s college in Bandipora. Nowadays government is busy to launch schemes on for girl child but unfortunately here is nothing in the name of girl, our girls have no women college in the 21th century. We have only one college in our area. Due to which many girls get the finest sand from achieving higher education.
Adv Mudasir also said that the residents of the area of north Kashmir’s Bandipora district here have expressed resentment against the successive regimes for failing to establish a women’s College in Bandipora , which according to them is long-pending demand.
The students urged the government to establish a college for women in the area so that the girl students could heave a sigh of relief.
Professor Ismail Ashana said, “our children are being forced to cover long distances to reach their colleges in Srinagar and other districts as there is no women’s college in our area at present.”
It seems some conspiracy being carried to sabotage their genuine demand.
He said every year hundreds of students qualify 10+2 from adjacent villages and especially girls could not continue as they have to travel dozens of kilometers to attend the nearest college.
The students urged the government to establish women’s college in Bandipora that everyone is not able the to visit other districts to achieve their education.
They appealed Governor led administration to look into the issue on the humanitarian basis so that justice will be delivered to the students of the area.
