Dir Edu inaugurates newly constructed buildings of GHS Shal Khud, GHS New Theed

Srinagar, Mar 7: With an aim to provide quality wise infrastructure to the students in far-flung areas of Srinagar city, the Director School Education Kashmir M Younis Malik Thursday inaugurated newly constructed buildings of Government High School Shal Khud, Check Dara and Government High School New Theed.
The Director School Education Kashmir inaugurated the newly constructed buildings in presence of Joint Director Schools Abid Hussain, Joint Director Planning Mohammad Yousuf, Chief Education Officer Srinagar Nasser Ahmad Malik besides civil society and other staff members.
The Director on the occasion emphasized that the government is focused to cover weaker sections of the society by way of providing them with quality education and infrastructure in their dwelling areas for their overall personal development.
DSEK on the occasion directed the teachers to use creative and innovative methods besides the latest technologies especially smart classrooms and computer labs to groom students and prepare them for national and international level entrance examinations.
Malik urged teachers to show a sense of commitment and belonging and work with zest and zeal for educational upliftment of children belonging to economically weaker sections.
The two newly constructed buildings have eight classrooms each to cater to the needs of the local population and have come up at 92 lakhs and 105 lakhs at Shal Khud and New Theed respectively.
The building at Shal Khud, Check Dara has been constructed under SAMAGRA scheme and the second one at New Theed has come up under Prime Ministers Development Package (PMDP). Both of these buildings have been constructed by the Engineering wing of School Education Department in a record span of eleven months.
It is pertinent to mention that the foundation stone of these schools was laid in November 2017 and the buildings were handed over for functioning in December 2018. (KNS)
