Deputy Mayor tours city areas, directs ward officers to act against illegal encroachments

Srinagar, Mar 3: Deputy Mayor Srinagar, Sheikh Mohammad Imran Sunday inspected many areas of the city and directed concerned ward officers to act against illegal encroachments in the city.
Imran visited several areas including Lal Chowk, Goni Khan Market, Lala Ded Market, Batamaloo, Chatterhama, Qamarwari, Parimpora, HMT and Omarabad areas.
He was accompanied by some Corporations and officials from SMC.
“Illegal encroachments in the city will be removed and demolished and whosoever will be found guilty will be dealt under the law of the land,” Imran said.
Deputy Mayor directed concerned Ward officers to continue to check their respective areas. He stressed that there should zero tolerance against violating ‘Srinagar Master Plan’.
He also warned if any ward officer will found guilty in easing the illegal construction, SMC will take strong action against that person.
During the Deputy Mayor met different delegations who highlighted their issues regarding drainage, Street lights, and traffic congestion.
While interacting with the delegations, Imran assured them to resolve their problems at an earliest. So that people will not face any problems in the future, he said.
